Why does this matter?

The maturity and success of a retail business can be assessed by it’s peak-season performance.

As the order volumes rise, businesses either cope perfectly well or they grind to a halt encountering stock outages, warehouse bottlenecks, website crashes, etc.

At Brightpearl we see thousands of businesses evolve away from these embarrassments by adopting scalable technologies and best practice workflows.

Take a second to enter the assessment and answer the 5 questions to see how you could mitigate disasters (or be told how great you already are!)

What is your average net profit margin?
Drag the slider.
Net Profit Margin
At its most basic, your net profit margin percentage is the profit leftover once you’ve considered all costs: inventory, operating costs, taxes, etc. The average differs depending on your industry; within clothing the range is typically within 4 to 15 percent, whereas in furniture it’s much tighter at 0 to 5.

Which of these automated workflows do you have in place?
Switch on any workflow(s) which you have set up in your business.
Automated Workflows
Not everything may be relevant to your business or fulfillment models, but theses are the main processes where software can really hinder or enable a business to soar through its peak season.
Multichannel order management
All orders are consolidated to a single place, saving you from logging into each sales channel or marketplace account separately.
Updating inventory levels
All your available inventory levels are shared and automatically updated across all your sales channels in real time.
Order fulfillment
Orders that meet your requirements (eg fully paid!) are sent straight to the warehouse team to fulfil.
Carrier integrations
Your shipments are automatically logged with your carriers, producing the shipping labels and tracking references without having to type in the address manually.
Highlight orders for attention
Whenever an order has not been created properly, or stock has suddenly become unavailable, those need to be highlighted for your team to action.
Creating drop-ship purchase orders
Creating a purchase order request for products you don’t currently have, or never stock yourself, which your vendor will ship directly to the customer for you.
Generate picking lists
Consolidating multiple packing notes into a batch and creating a list of items and locations that a warehouse associate can work from to save time running around the warehouse.
Grouping customers for e-marketing
E-marketing has evolved to move away from broad approach of emailing everyone with a generic message. Smart retailers organize their contacts into target specialized segments instead.
Integrated purchase ordering
Creating purchase orders from the same system that manages your orders and inventory to create consolidate orders, avoiding extra costs and stockouts. Not to be automated lightly!
Accounting for COGS
Automatically creating accounting entries with the exact inventory costs incurred for fulfilling each order you process.
